As a practising secondary school teacher, I regularly prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations and have a strong understanding of current curriculum, assessment processes and the skills students need to succeed.
I have worked with students following AQA, Edexcel, CCEA and Cambridge International courses, as well as those preparing for DELF and DELE qualifications, ISEB Common Entrance, independent school entrance and scholarship examinations, and applications to highly selective universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Based in Oxfordshire, I work with learners at a wide range of stages, from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for examinations, and have extensive experience supporting students with SEND.

My teaching is always centred around the student. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, areas for development and goals, and tailor my teaching accordingly.
Whatever your child’s needs or goals, I’d be very happy to discuss how I can support them.
Whether a student needs to strengthen their foundations, develop their exam technique or simply feel more confident using the language, my aim is to provide clear, supportive and purposeful teaching that helps them make meaningful and lasting progress.

BACKGROUND
My fascination with languages and words began at an early age, even though I didn’t leave the UK until I was 17. Reading and writing became some of my earliest ways of exploring the world, before I began learning Spanish in Year 3. For me, something clicked.
At the time, I couldn’t quite put that curiosity into words, but I now understand that it came from realising just how much bigger the world was than I could comprehend, and that there were countless stories, people and perspectives out there to discover through thousands of different languages.
After studying English Literature and Language, Spanish, French and German at A-Level, I went on to pursue languages at university. As part of my degree, I spent a year teaching English in Asturias, in northern Spain, as well as several months in France, where I worked as an au pair and studied at a French language school.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I continued into postgraduate study with a Master of Research, focusing on contemporary women’s writing in Spain. I later returned to Spain, this time to Galicia, to continue teaching English. It was there that I discovered the Galician language and its rich literary tradition, opening up yet another linguistic and cultural world to explore.
I was then fortunate enough to take my teaching overseas to Colombia, where I taught at South Colombian University in Neiva. During my time there, I had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Colombia and into Peru, where I fulfilled a lifelong dream of seeing Vinicunca, better known as Rainbow Mountain.
With my heart full and my mind inspired, I returned to the UK to complete my teacher training and begin sharing my passion for languages, cultures and travel with young people. I firmly believe in the power of language learning to broaden horizons, foster empathy and empower young people to explore the world. Being able to share that passion with others is both a joy and a privilege.
When I’m not teaching or learning a new language, you’ll usually find me playing the piano, reading a book in a coffee shop or heading out on a long walk. From time to time, I also write and reflect on the things that interest me, some of which you can hear on my Spanish-language podcast, ¿Cómo amaneciste? Aimed at intermediate learners, the podcast offers short reflections and a little food for thought, all while giving you the chance to practise your Spanish.
